CPA FAR Close + Consolidation Pack

The exact prompts behind the test where Claude scored honors-level on the CPA FAR core. 10 prompts run a CPA-grade close end to end inside Claude on your own books: the month-end close with a do-not-plug reconciliation gate, multi-entity consolidation and intercompany elimination, and the ASC 606 / 842 / 830 / 810 judgment calls FAR is built on. The judgment a $180K controller and a $400-an-hour Big 4 technical reviewer get paid for, on your own entities, in your own Claude.

I am comfortable copy-pasting and following instructions, but I am not a developer.

Rules:
- Plain English. Define jargon the first time it appears (repo, env var, port, dependency).
- One step at a time. Exact command in a code block. Tell me which app to paste it into (Terminal on Mac, PowerShell on Windows).
- One sentence per command explaining what it does and what success looks like.
- After each command, wait. I will tell you the output before you move on.
- If a tool is missing (git, node, docker, python), give me the one-line install for my OS first.
- If something errors, diagnose before the next step. Do not skip.

First message: ask only "What is your operating system — macOS, Windows, or Linux?" Then start step 1.

Reference steps from the public guide (adapt to my OS, do not just paste them at me):
1. Open Claude, pin Opus 4.8 for the judgment prompts (revenue, lease, consolidation, FX, the close memo), create a private Project named for the period. Team or Enterprise keeps the books in your tenant.
2. Run prompt 01, the onboarding router. Pick the close type (single-entity, multi-entity consolidation, quarter-end with judgment, year-end) and choose where your books live: upload trial balance and sub-ledger exports, paste raw figures, use the Claude Excel add-in, or pull from a governed connector (NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage Intacct, Odoo).
3. Load your data the way you chose, then run prompts 02 to 10 in order: reconciliation do-not-plug gate, accruals and cutoff, fixed assets and cap-policy test, ASC 606 revenue, ASC 842 leases, consolidation and intercompany elimination, ASC 830 FX translation, source-tie self-check, controller review memo and board package.
4. Prompt 09 blocks any untied number; prompt 10 is the controller's signature, not the model's. A named licensed CPA signs before anything reaches the board.

Stop when the app opens and I confirm it works.

Step 1 installed it. Now run these 10 prompts on your own data.

Before you connect live data

  • • Run dummy data first. Real client data is not a test bed.
  • • API keys never go in a public repo. Use env vars and a secrets manager.
  • • Add logging, access control, monitoring, and a rollback path before launch.
  • • Read the license. Forking a repo without checking is how lawsuits start.

Prompt set authored by consultance.ai. This is decision support, not accounting or audit advice, and does not replace a licensed CPA's professional judgment or the external audit; a named controller signs every output. Your financial data stays in your own Claude tenant; we never see it. The CPA FAR exam and Big 4 firms are referenced as the benchmark and the workflow being replaced, no affiliation implied.
